This past year there were several instances of 911 systems becoming non-operational, rendering citizens vulnerable in the event of an emergency. Before the 911 system was created how individuals reached out for help was by contacting their local Fire and Police Departments directly who would then dispatch a unit to the location where assistance was needed.

The recent CenturyLink 911 outage created an internal discussion of the vulnerabilities this outage caused and how to take some old style precautions! To help individuals prepare for future service disruptions a CEDR volunteer created an Important Emergency Contact List printout that you can download and post inside a Kitchen cabinet or on your refrigerator door.   Use the bullet to download and print this pdf

Additional uses for this printout:
– Keep a copy in each of your: Go Bags
– Keep a copy in your medicine cabinet with tel # of poison control center’
– Provide grandparents or caregivers with a hardcopy

We hope this inspires you and your family members to get prepared for any emergency in 2019!
