CEDR is currently monitoring Hurricane Chris as it moves northeastward as it rapidly strengthens into a Cat 2 Hurricane. The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Chris, located 245 miles east-southeast of the North Carolina’s Outer Bank Islands.
The Canadian Weather Service forecasts that Chris will continue to gradually accelerate northeastward over the next couple of days passing well south of Nova Scotia and then is expected to slowly weaken as it tracks near the Avalon Peninsula as a post-tropical storm later Thursday night or early Friday morning.

CEDR is currently monitoring the remnants of Hurricane Beryl. Per the National Hurricane Center The remnants of Beryl, a tropical wave moving northwestward across the southeastern Bahamas, are producing gusty winds and locally heavy rain from Hispaniola and southeastern Cuba northeastward across the southeastern Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos. However, the disturbance is
expected to turn northward over the western Atlantic on Wednesday where upper-level winds could become more conducive for the regeneration of a tropical cyclone later this week.
- Formation chance through 48 hours: 20 percent.
- Formation chance through five days: 50 percent.

CEDR actualmente está siguiendo el Huracan Beryl y su impacto potencial en las Islas Exteriores de Carolina del Norte, donde actualmente está estacionado. El Centro Nacional de Huracanes Los remanentes de Beryl, una onda tropical moviendose hacia el noroeste a traves del sureste de las Bahamas, estan produciendo rafagas de viento y areas de lluvia fuerte desde la Espanola y el sureste de Cuba hacia el norte a traves del sureste de las Bahamas, Turks y Caicos. Sin embargo, se espera que este disturbio gire hacia el norte sobre el oeste del Atlantico el miercoles donde los vientos en los niveles altos pudieran tornarse un poco mas favorables para regeneracion de un ciclon tropical mas tarde esta semana.
